Why do we still have a base in Germany? Surely the Germans have their act together now?

It was part of the agreement when we kicked their ass in the war. And we have MANNNY bases in Germany. The area the OP is going, and where I am stationed as well, has the most Americans living overseas anywhere in the world.

OP- Bring a US Spec E30 here, its the best idea. Contact me when you get here, I'll show ya around, unless your a creep...

make sure you bring a u.s. e30 with you- condition is really irrelevent if you have a little creativity and a friend with a welder- if you know what I mean.
def. bring A car here with you-- a classic american muscle car if you have a few extra dollars-- you can flip it for big cash-- or a diesel pick-up will make you a nice chunk of change.
and it isnt going to cost you a penny to get the car here.

Then go into your local TMO office with a copy of your PCS orders you are still authorized a shipment of a vehicle. As long as your vehicle is shipped before you have less than a year remaining on station.

Now if the USAF did not authorize a POV at you location they would pay for storage but since you opted not to ship they will not pay iaw the JFTR.

I fly thru Spangdahlem and Ramstein enough and was former logistics. Ramstein is fun but Christina closed the Tree Bar and most other bars in Landstul close far to early these days.

I was an SP at Vogelweh for about 4 years. I'm no longer there.

Maximum... are you the one from "the Harbor"? Did we already talk about this? Is that E30 in storage around me? hit me up with details, I MAY be interested, or could atleast ask around the local scene for you to get rid of it.

I land in Berlin on 9/28, then flying to Stuttgart on 9/30 for the Porsche Museum as well as Volksfest (second largest beer festival in the world), I'll be in Munich from 10/1 - 10/6. Probably going to Oktoberfest on Friday and Sunday. I've heard the closing ceremony is pretty awesome... plus it's the 200th anniversary of Oktoberfest this year.
