    Wes Anderson.

This thread is dedicated to all discussion of his movies.

Are there some other fans on R3V? Any thoughts of his new or past movies?

I just watched the trailer and clip for "Fantastic Mr. Fox" and was blown away.

    Rushmore is his best.

It would be tough to claim a "best" out of his films. I'm so psyched for the new movie. It looks hilarious.

Rushmore and Bottle Rocket were funny (Rushmore moreso) but they didn't strike me the way his other movies did.

The Royal Tenenbaums is one of my favorite movies of all time. I've seen it a million times but it never gets old. The Life Aquatic and Darjeeling Limited were both very good I thought, but nothing like the Royal Tenenbaums. Which is funny because from what I gather that's probably his least popular. I also have one of those Operation Hennessey shirts.

He seems to have a talent for taking actors and actresses I don't normally like, like Adrian Brody and Gwyneth Paltrow, and putting them in roles where I love them.

The Royal Tenenbaums is one of my all time favorite movies. I really like all of his movies but that one especially is great, one of those movies that I have to watch if I see it on TV randomly.

I thought darjeeling limited was his maturest film; royal and steve zissou was very funny and tragic.

In my opinion, Rushmore was his best. However, I was quite taken by Darjeeling Ltd. About the time that I realized my boredom the plot takes such a huge twist and you realize that Wes is trying to stir up more emotions than just laughter.

And how can you not laugh when Chas Tenenbaum carries in his fire extinguisher as part of his luggage?

I'd say The Life Aquatic and Royal Tenenbaums are my favorites. That scene where Zissou smokes a joint on the bridge of the Belafonte to Bowie's "life on mars" is pretty damn epic.

We're in the middle of a lightning strike rescue op, Klaus. What's the deal?

Wes Anderson is only second to the Coen Brothers in my book. Bottle Rocket and Dareeling Limited are his best two films. His character development is amazing.

Rushmore is my favorite, followed VERY closely by Life Aquatic.

I HATED Royal Tenenbaums. The only part of it I found funny was Ben Stiller's character, I hated the rest of it. Probably his worst movie, in my opinion. I still watch Rushmore and Life Aquatic all the time.

Bottle Rocket? How I have never even heard of it? All of the other movies mentioned of his in this thread I'm a huge fan of.

Bottle rocket is his first film. Definitely worth seeing. Wes anderson is amazing at character development, "real" feeling storylines, and crafty camera shots. I would like to hear others opinions on Fantastic Mr. Fox. I think this one will be very funny and is definitely an exploration into something new for Mr. Anderson.

As for the "docking" of the royal tenenbaums, I think it was a perfect. Great storyline and a bit of dry humor. Let's not forget it contained one of the best montage/suicide montage ever. That entire scene, from when "Needle in the Hay" started until it ended, was amazingly done.

i guess i have been out of it as of late but i didnt know FMF was wes anderson. i have always loved everyone of his movies. royal first followed by rushmore. when i saw the preview for this yesterday i thought it looked great. im glad that i did, because it proves to me that wes is one of my favorites.

i love in royal when Royal is talking to the kids and he says "he saved my life one time, i was stabbed in calcutta and he carried me on his back to the hosiptal" the rest of the dialog is great. and when margo is being "how long have you been smoking.... ....well i think you should quit" of course the lines lose something when read in a forum post, you must live them on the screen.
