Need an Expert

I am freelancing a 300 word brief about 'How to buy a car on craigslist,' to send out to several magazines and am having a hard time finding an "expert" to use as a source.

Was perhaps thinking of someone who worked for Consumer Reports or the likes, but figure I would get some input/advice/suggestions from you guys.
