Tag Systems: The Ultimate Driving Simulator?

This is probably the coolest thing I've ever seen. It's a driving/racing simulator (like many others)...but this one uses your own car:

    More info here: http://www.tagsystems.com.au/index.html

Braking and throttle inputs come from the chassis dyno. The wheel angle is determined by a laser measuring device pointed at the front wheels (similar to a wheel alignment). You put the car on scales for vehicle weight and corner balance info. Then you drive your own car in a simulated environment.

If someone opens a "Tag Drag" center in NJ, I'd be all over it.

I'll be the wet noodle and mention you don't get the feel of acceleration. No g-forces there.

I've been in a real aircraft simulator, and spent 24 hours in fully functioning Space Shuttle simulator, but those were fun for very different reasons.

the steering wheel won't automatically return when you are sideways

I wonder how the dyno would take the clutch kicks and e-brakes

          it definitely wouldn't read a burnout unless you're on a 4-wheel dyno
