    I work with money all day in at a major grocery chains cash office. We don't like to take stuff older then 1950 because there is no way for us to prove that it is real. There has been a huge flux of fake bills with dates before this time. This is for several reasons. A currency pen will say it's fake because the paper used was different then the stuff we use now, there is no security strip, and there is no watermark.

    I've had to turn down suspicious bills like yours numerous times. It's nothing against you, the business is just looking out for it's self.

    Just keep the bill or take it to your bank and have them switch you.

    Yeah get out of here the mods are for my E36. Nah my mom actually wants to get rid of it since she cant use it.

    It's not like they can make you use another bill. Money is money is money.

    Just tell them that's all you have to pay, and that unless they can prove it has no legal tender, it's it, or a free meal. ;)

    But if I were you, I would keep it and frame it.
