hOmes you are a stupid fuck. We dropped on Japan in 45, the Truman doctrine was 47 in regards to the way the russinas were acting, and the know facts they were developing one of their own. The did not put a big hole in siberia till 1949. Your a dumb one arent you
WOW thank you PB&J I was assuming that I was gonna have to all the correcting of hOlmes.
Thank you.
hOlmes shut the fuck up, you really have no concept of history at all. Read some books before you come after people that know a little bit about it.Last edited by mrsleeve; 12-16-2009, 05:18 PM.Leave a comment:

Your dates are off too. You said yourself that they didn't test their first bomb until 1949.
Maybe you should get your dates and background info right before saying that the Soviets weren't a threat. Everybody knows that the Soviets were considered a post war threat even before the war was over.Leave a comment:

I saw that coming.
where did you go to highschool?? (rhetorical question)
Hey guys, wanna watch me piss off Holmes? 8)
ok here goes: Holmes/Jefferies, your above statement perfectly exemplifies the mindset/though process of all hard core liberals. You will change history and facts to your liking so that it can better serve your opinions.
That war was not already won. I won't even provide facts to disprove your statement, just read any history book.
The threat of invasion would absolutely not have swayed the Japs in the least. If you knew anything about the Japanese during WWII you would know that every last Japanese was told/trained to fight to the death. This is the leftover mentality of Bushido. Women and children were flinging themselves off of cliffs so that they would not be captured by the enemy. Read about Iwo Jima. Japan would have been just another Iwo Jima invasion times a thousand.
Dropping the bombs was not "pointless", because obviously because of the bombs, the Japanese surrendered, therefore not pointless. Grisly, sick, and horrible, yes of course, but not pointless as you say.
Damn, LBJeffries just got OWNED! Maybe she'll cry herself to sleep tonight.Leave a comment:

If they weren't a threat then what was the Truman Doctrine all about? They weren't at the time.
They were our allies throughout WWII.
Not to mention, they didn't test their first nuclear bomb until 1949.....four years after the bombs were dropped in Japan.
So, explain to us again how they were a threat in 1945?
I haven't yet seen either a factual or sensible answer from you.Leave a comment:

An AK-47 has the ability to wipe out every speck of life on the planet, given enough ammo. (well, not microscopic life...)
Likewise firebombs can wipe out every speck of life, given enough bombing, the same way atom bombs can wipe out every speck of life, given enough bombs.Leave a comment:

Soviets were considered a real threat even before we made a couple of pacts with them. We never fully trusted them and they never fully trusted us. Our alliance was at first optimistic only because of its convenience.
They weren't nearly as weak as people assume after WWII. People still adored Stalin after he killed 20 million of his own people. Fighting them at the end of WWII would of been harder than invading Japan imo.Leave a comment:

It is different because nuclear weapons have the ability to wipe out every spec of life on this planet. By dropping them on Japan, the oh so holy and moral America, has justified their use.Oh and by the way, it is no different than the RAF bombing the dog crap out of Berlin and Dredson and Munich at night, and the USAF fire-bombing Tokyo, and the Luftwaffe bombing London...
...just because the a-bombs used a more effecient transfer of energy, doesn't make it any more morally unjust. War is a terrable human action, no matter who does it or why or how effecient.Leave a comment:
