    Video Game Steering Wheels

I dunno if there is a thread for this, but I'm sorry if there is one already. Anyway I'm thinking about buying a steering wheel for the PS3 and I have no idea which one to get. What is everyone using? Also, if you have a setup with a seat and such, post it up. Again sorry if this has been covered.

the logitech g25 or g27 is the "pinnacle" of gaming wheels, but is way too expensive, and doesn't have any PS3 specific features. $300

the "driving force GT" wheel has controls on the wheel that let you adjust things in the middle of a race when used in gran turismo, and is made specifically for GT on the PS3 (though you can use it for other games). $150

look for the driving force GT to come in a bundle with GT5 once they release the game this summer, probably with significant savings. they did that when GT5: prologue was released.

Not really. Fanatic is the pinnacle of gaming wheels. G25/G27 are middle ground.

I almost got a Fanatic GT3 RS set up, with the BEAUTIFUL aluminum pedals. But I couldn't justify the cost. G25 may be a bit louder, and not as smooth, but it has all the features I needed, for quite a bit less.

Have you seen the Fanatec wheel out of Germany? Looks pretty awesome, just been hard to find reviews on it here.

It also works with PS3 and Xbox 360 and PC, the only wheel that is compatible with all three as far as I know.

But wheels and pedals will set you back around $450 + shipping.

Correct, my buddy here at work pointed those out to me the other day. He's been looking for a wheel since he says the 360 wheel sucks. He wants one that will work with both his PS3 and 360.

i've never heard of it. Is it the one that looks like a Porsche steering wheel?

Logitech G25 or if you don't have 3 large to spend on a gaming wheel either hit up the ebays or buy the previous generation Driving Force Pro. In my experience the Driving Force is a bit more rugged but both are excellent choices. Please don't ask how I know ...

it may not be "the pinnacle" (*wankwank*) but i picked up a g25 and racing seat setup w/ a tv mount stand for about $700 altogether. i'm sure i could have picked up something prettier if i'd spent 2x-3x the money but the thing is, when i'm playing gran turismo, i'm usually watching the screen.
