Building an AR

With the assault rifle ban potentially coming to WA, I figure now is a good time to get my shit in order and buy an AR before I can't (maybe).

I know there's a lot of gun enthusiasts on here, what resources are good for parting/piecing/purchasing the stuff to put together a solid AR15 or something comparable

I could, but where's the fun in that? I hear you can save some money and get a more quality gun if you piece together everything as well

For your first, buy a complete. Then buy a secondary lower of your choice once you find your style and desires.

Hrm, is there a good site for comparing different AR's? I'm not really even sure what to look for, I've got a hipoint 9mm carbine, 1911 dan wesson CZ commander .45ACP, and used to have a mosin nagat. Never really shot an AR and don't even know where my tastes would differ from gun to gun
