Another scam type of thing they do is show a lower price on the internet, but at the store, the same product will be higher. I've seen this several times. All you have to do is tell them it was cheaper online and they will give it to you for that price, but why should you have to ask?
Like Josh said, I only go there when I need something NOW and can't wait for it to get here in the mail.Comment

Last time I went there was to get some laptop combo with printer, mouse and some other crap. I didnt want the add ons but I figured I could sell it on Craigs cause the laptop itself was nice. Turns out the "combo" deal was out of stock even though I see all the pieces around the store, they told me I can buy the laptop for the package price, it just wouldn't come with all the package accessories, just the laptop.sigpicComment

the problem with these stupid warranties is the cost of laptops/computers has come down a LOT. if my wifes laptop were to die, I could buy another one for a little more than the cost of a warranty extension. Even if you used the extension, you still have a 3 year old computer that could have been replaced by a faster/better computer for the same cost or maybe $100 more. There's just no economic justification unless you're spending $2k on an uber machine, but the average ma & pa (who are buying a $500 laptop, maybe) get suckered by pushy sales people and scary stories.
How many of those same people pay EB Games the extra $20 or whatever for disk scratch protection? what a joke!
I keep any computer I have for about 3 years give or take. If one were to spend $250 on a warranty, then deduct the cost of a battery that I will kill in under 2 years, there's not much left. Say a battery is $100 (A real one not a ebay chinese one), you still have $150 invested. Just looking at the cost of a laptop HDD, which is completely reasonable to blow in under 3 years, you can knock a big chunk out of that $150. What remains would be a good deal for accidental damage.Rollin' with a GeistkuchenComment
