So 2 years ago I got pulled over for 77 in a 55. It was really a 65, but I figured the safest spot to pull over was a pull off spot from construction equiptment that vacated the area 6 months prior. I was given a no front plate ticket at the same time. This incident cost me $515, and I was given 6 points. The reason why I bring this up now is because payment is due for new yorks fantastic "driver responsibility program" which forces me to pay $100/year for 3 years because I have points. Pretty much traveling at an acceptable speed costs $815, state troopers can't plea bragin because they took too many bribes, judges won't let you get a word in, and if you don't pay up they take away your license.
Are all states this expensive? Is the driver responsibility program commonplace now?
