    GT5, Forza 3 or iRacing?

I've come to the realization that until the economy turns around, my track time will need to go virtual. What would be the most enjoyable simulation game to invest in? I heard iRacing was pretty amazing but limited, Forza and GT beautiful and fun. I don't own any consoles or even a decent computer for gaming so before investing in one I wanted to get everyone's opinion. I'm not a heavy gamer so I would probably just own the racing games.

Forza 3 is a ton of fun, and GT5 isn't out yet so it's hard to compare. GT5 is supposed to be the bees knees though.

    Never heard of iRacing.

Something tells me a video game is never going to curb your desire to really drive.

No, it wont. But it will keep up your driving skills (obviously nothing is as good as real track time, but late braking, turn in points and apex clipping are important skills that can be practiced in games), as well as keep ya busy until you can afford to get on the track. Lately I've been snow drifting because my ps2 shit the bed. I need an xbox!

I have only played forza and I love it, the in car cam is so perfect with a lot of attention to details. But its all black top racing, gt has rally witch is sweet.

GTR evo is in fact brilliant, and puts both Forza and GT to shame. Granted to fully enjoy it you'll want to invest in a g25/g27 wheel and a decent computer. I'd say around 300 for the computer and 200 for the wheel. Not to shabby.

Here's a shot of GTR evo.

If you are looking to actually help your racing or atleast get something out of it, I would only recommend iRacing, as that is the only racing simulator your named. GT5 and Forza 3 are sims by console standards but really just arcade racers by real standards.

Also by getting the PC you will be able to play Rfactor which is very lame in itself, but with the shit ton of mods for it you can't go wrong.

Logitec g25, or the new g27.

Does anyone remember when the Act Labs RS was the wheel to have? Atleast it was the one I always wanted, back in the day, modding out SportsCar GT.

i don't think you can compare iracing with gt5 or forza 3. the focus is different, the track/car accuracy is far higher in iracing but they have limited car selection. iracing is more geared towards racing the various series. i have iracing but will probably also pickup GT5 for the PS3. Logitech G25/27 is the wheel/pedals to have unless you have the budget for a semi-pro setup.
