Been married 17 years and counting. I approach every situation involving a choice with a simple decision matrix: Between choice A (example: buying a bass boat without asking my wife and then flipping her the bird when she questions it) or choice B (example: no bass boat, plus being civil to my Mother-in-law when she visits) I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS go with whichever choice is most likely to get me laid. And that dedication, single-minded focus, and consistency makes it very likely indeed. Also saves a lot of wasted mental effort. This works for me - your mileage may vary.
