I believe Obama said that. Along with, "Every family is entitled to a place to call home" or some such...

Fixed... "Every family has the right to work towards bettering their life style and condition of living"

Or in other words, "The Pursuit of Happiness".

I'm just mocking those who state that everyone should have a right to free/inexpensive health care.

Why not inexpensive gas as well like in Venezuela?

See where I'm going with this?

But it's not the Government's job to take care of mine on either count, isn't that right? If you want them to take over and control yours so you don't have to, that's fine. But be prepared to not eat sugar or eggs or cheese or bacon or... etc etc. Maybe they can best choose how many kids you can have? Or maybe where or when you can work and how. Before all that, they'll police what you can and cannot read. Eventually it would work it's way (obviously, with the green trend...) into what you can or cannot drive.

Apples and Oranges, sure. But they're both still fruit.

Honest question, with the religion stuff (and hopefully, name calling) behind us (though Hallen, I'd like to buy you a beer). Do you think that the government should stop paying for the 'fruit' of public education?

At a very high level, I think that it is the government's responsibility to provide basic essentials (whether it's directly or through regulation) for it's people - I guess you and I draw the line in different places, is all.

I think you're participating in fear mongering to a certain degree; I think we have enough protection in place to prevent 'full blown socialism' (if you really think that's what the Obama administration wants). I can see how you might be against the green trend - I don't agree 100% (bits and pieces, sure) - but I can empathize to a certain degree. Arguing against giving all people an honest chance at good healthcare though...I just don't understand that. Maybe you haven't been touched personally by people that have been screwed by this system.

If you're arguing HOW the government should handle healthcare, then that's a whole different story...but it seems like you're dismissing it entirely.
