Political - MIT conference on Israel lobby & US foreign policy

Interesting conference at the MIT on the subject of Israeli lobby in US foreign politic, and its implications. It offers three points of view, as well as discussion with the public. The conference is meant to be non-confrontational but shed some light on this phenomenom that deeply affected the past half-century.

It is a long, and should be discussed if the entire conference has been viewed as the points are interesting, even thugh we might not agree.

There is absolutely no doubt an Isreali lobby here.

This ain't actually the goal. Which is why it is interesting to understand all three points of view. Yes, there is a strong pro Israel lobby, the same there are hundreds of other lobbying groups. The conference is about how far has the lobbying reached. Differences in opinions are interesting to hear.

This sure ain't black and white like most of the comment heard on this forum.

I know this is kind of off topic but...

Who else thinks that the formation of a Palestinian state is a horrible idea? It will just unite the cause of the anti-Zionists and give them a military budget to go along with it. They aren't going to stop hating Israel because Jews are infidels and occupy the Holy Land. They want Jerusalem and they don't care how many people they have to kill to get it. Even if it means destroying the whole Middle East in the process.

With that being said, Fuck Israel as well. Who's fucking bright idea was it to create a Jewish state right at the epicenter of Western religion? I don't fucking blame Muslims for being pissed off, even if I don't agree with their belief system. Jerusalem was taken from them.

The only way this conflict is going to be solved peacefully is if the state of Israel dissolves and a secular state is put in it's place. But of course the Israeli's would never resort to a peaceful solution such as this, they are too proud of their outdated belief system.

Terrorists are never going to stop bombing trains and markets as long as Israel exists. And they are never going to stop targeting Americans as long as we blindly support Israel. Compromise is essential if this conflict is ever going to be solved peacefully and that means the dissolution of Israel and the creation of a secular state.

The only alternative is nuke proliferation and world war 3.

I agree for the most part but...
When Israel makes the people of Palistine suffer they make more and more enemies. So much that now most of the citizens of Palistine not only voted in a terrorist organization but back it.
Isreal should have done things to help the Palistinians. Help them rebuild, help them with farming, help them with many things....and gone back to the 1967 borders.
Isreal is as much at fault over this mess as the Palistinians. They're just making it much much worse.
