need some comptuer help.touchpad is acting weird

i have a dell with windows xp. for some reason i can click with my touchpad. not by clicking the buttons on it but just by tapping the touch pad. this makes it very difficult to use my computer. i'm clicking random things all the time. it just started doing this a couple of days ago. can someone tell me how to fix it? i can't find the touchpad settings anywhere

in the bottom right side of your screen near the clock there should be an icon for the touch controls, you might have to click the little upwards triangle to see it. in its menus will be where you turn it off. I havent owned a dell with xp for awhile so i cant tell you exactly.

If you cant do it via Control Panel in the Mouse category, then you may need to download the updated mouse driver from Dell.com. It has all teh more advanced functionality controls, and doesnt come bundled OEM with XP usually.

Go to Dell.com, bottom of page Drivers and Downloads. Put in your Service tag, and its under one of those categories.
