    Thoughts?

    Hey Guys,
So I was wondering what you guys thought about other people charging PayPal fees when purchasing something from them. You know, the whole "pay me $X.XX amount plus the 3% PayPal fee or whatever it may be.

I thought Paypal only charged 3% if the buyer uses a credit card. I'm no expert though.

Don't see a problem with it personally. It's a convenience charge.

I only charge it to other people when it is going to make a significant difference. I have no issues with other sellers charging it, it adds up when you sell a lot.

FYI, "Send as Gift" = no 3.5% charge.

Price * .03 + shipping = Price paid by customer, its not hard to jack up a price by 3% and then post it up for sale.

"Send as Gift" = not protected by Buyer / Seller Protection Program, nor can you access the Paypal Shipping Center as a seller, which makes things slightly harder to ship out. It's fine if you trust the guy on the other end, but if it's someone you don't know... buyer beware!

I agree, just include the paypal fee in your original price posted. I hate getting nickel and dimed after the fact.

Or send an "E-Check" through Paypal, takes a few days to clear (like a real check) but you don't lose the 3%.

That's why a lot of times, I go to actual store rather buy online after you have been nickeled and dimed you save what a whopping 5% and have to wait for shipping.

Should probably check that equation. You'd be selling pretty cheap :-) Get what you meant though.
