actually the "ROAD"ents - a cross between the 60s big daddy roth rat fink comics "rodent" and driving.
they are a bunch of really cool old guys that I love to check out- they are worse than the R3v crowd when it comes to something a bit "different"!!

they run around mostly in the NW suburbs- but a few of the guys live on the south side.


Severed ties was/is the center of minitruckin magazine back in the days. and yes-- there is nothing nicer tha dragging a truck and having all of the hillbillies ask you why you would ruin a "truck" every day. I was/am/ will always be a slammed truck guy. If only the euro crowd had 1/8th of the fabrication skills of the truckin scene!!!

There is a kid at my school who drives a ~99ish integra. He thinks his car is the coolest thing on the planet. His car is maroon with spray painted black stock wheels, aftermarket carbon fiber trim that does not fit flush, carbon fiber hood, carbon fiber lib that is broken and one of those 8" diameter fart can mufflers.

Oh and he wears a drifter shirt every day with either an integra, evo, supra, etc on it.

Back in 98-99 I used to frequent the local streetraces in my hometown. There were a lot of silly, clapped out rides, I had a 79 Vdub bus with a 2185cc and sandrail spec built trans. It still wasn't fast, but I loved going out to the races anyway.

They had pimped out Dodge Stratus' on air with everything shaved, bagged Saturn Stationwagons, and, the requisite dumped trucks. There was a guy named Scotty who everybody said was a bit of a crackhead, and he was always blasting his system everywhere. He got a nickname that was tied to those facts. He made it a windshield banner. The banner read "Base Knob".

TOOO many of these car clubs in chicago. Funniest one is 3 guys who dont have any running cars besides a Del Sol. They show up to the street races all stuffed inside it. and they are dressed up like they are going clubbing. greatest thing ever..
