Ipod docking stations?

My stuff is still in storage so I really don't plan on digging thru anytime soon. So wanting to listen to some decent sound in my place. Question boils down to are there any reasonable priced and good sounding systems out there?

Bose while it sounds good is not worth 500 for their basic wave radio. I guess I could pick up a sub woofer/satellite speakers for my laptop but would prefer to have music on other side of room vs right besides me.

i might not dismiss that option so quickly. the bose is pricey, but it fills a room with sound like you'll never be able to do spending $500 any other way; not to mention it's the size of a game console and not an amp/speaker/sub combo.

See i have a pricey home stereo system in storage with older 80's big speakers and so on just want some reasonable sounding system Not asking for reference stuff. just hate the tinny Harman/Kardon units as they are so small you barely hear the sound over the background.

I guess I might look for one at the outlet in Framingham.

Read up on the Sangean (formerly Proton) clock radio.

Not exactly AMAAAAAZING sound, but better than listening to traffic.

It is, however, a truly kick ass clock radio. Buy both parts and you will be impressed.

its cheaper and you will get better sound if you buy a set of amazing computer speakers, or a stereo and speakers to plug your ipod into instead of getting some proprietary ipod dock+speaker thing.

The offerings on Apples website all sound pretty good, you can probably find them for cheaper on Amazon tho.

Vestalife Ladybug II got decent reviews and its small.

The plus to having a real docking station, is that it keeps your ipod charged, and usually comes with a remote control.
