LOL. He's learned to push your buttons :p

Movie looks awesome. I need to see the original, so I have no idea what's actually going on in the trailer, but it has awesome lights and scifi noises.

You should perhaps consider not getting flustered when someone questions your intelligence, and things will go a lot smoother ;)

                The director's page :

Seem like he is a good fit for this movie. He's also directing "the black hole" and his "oblivion" project seems interesting

I'm also a huge comic book fan, sci-fi fan...haven't seen watchmen yet though.

I didn't realize who the director was. I've followed his work for some time.

The simple fact that Daft Punk is in charge of the soundtrack makes me very happy.

                      Should be quite the experience.

The problem with movie trailers is that they are often better than the movies themselves.
I liked the Watchmen movie, but I don't think it conveyed the really heavy issues that the graphic novel did so deftly. To be honest, and although you undoubtedly just meant that as a dig at GG, I think that if I hadn't read the novel before I had seen the movie, I wouldn't have understood many of the issues the movie tried to adapt. It was too heavy-handed at times, and the ending didn't deliver nearly as much as the ending of the novel did. It was dumbed down, in a sense, while trying to maintain the feel of the comic book. It just didn't feel right.

Seriously, would you have gotten the complex flashbacks to the early superheroes just by the short scenes in the movie? The book, or at least the extended anniversary edition or whatever, spends tons of time with background which adds an immense amount to the story, IMO.

Moreover, Jackie Earle Haley was brilliant, naturally, and though Billy Crudup was admirable as Dr. Manhattan, I couldn't help but feel he didn't really capture the rather frightening apathetic distance of the character. Malin Akerman's performance, on the other hand, was wooden at best. At least there were boobies.

Watchmen is undoubtedly a very entertaining movie, but I would venture to say it's more of an accompaniment to the novel, rather than a stand alone film. Frankly, I don't think it's totally possible to adapt Watchmen into a watchable move, but I think they did a decent job. Maybe that's why Alan Moore refuses to watch any film adaptations of his books. Or maybe it's because he's a complete psycho. One or the other.

On an interesting side note, what you say about trailers I agree with. For instance, the trailer for Watchmen I think presented it as a completely different movie than it was. Obviously for marketing's sake, but the trailer was, rather ironically considering the quote above, more along the lines of Spiderman or Transformers.

Thank you, this has been Chad's weekly movie review.

^applause. Chad, please make this a weekly feature on R3V. I'd read every week.

Maby you could give a movie a "chad" rating. Like 2 Chads up. 3 Chads up. ect..
