Remember, the northern point on the compass is, under most circumstances (unless near the center or deep in the ice wall), pointing toward the center of the Earth. If you follow your compass due east or due west, ending up at the same point you started from, you've just gone around the world in a circle. Thus, circumnavigation is possible on FE.

Don't feel bad, I actually had a chat with someone in one of my college geology classes that was convinced the Earth was 10,000 years old. Luckily she didn't last long in that class. The argument was basically that god created the Earth, Genesis style, and refuted radiometric dating that showed the Earth to be around 4 billion years old via the argument that "god was making things seem older than they are". I fear for the future of humankind.

So you are saying it's better to stagnate, even slide backwards, than risk reaching a limit to prosperity? Are you trying to say that economic growth is really limited? In this universe? Boy, for a liberal, you sure have a narrow view.

Prosperity is a successful, flourishing, or thriving condition. Prosperity often comes from a thriving economy. An economy does not have to be growing to be thriving. Prosperity is reached when every individual is contributing at their peak performance. Socialism guarantees that people will never contribute at their peak performance because there is no reward for doing so and therefore overall prosperity MUST go down.

Socialism= mediocrity at best. There will never be an up side, only a down side. You are limited by the lowest common denominator. This is a gray world. You won't know or care if the world is round or flat. You just want to get drunk and pass out.

Free Market= The potential for prosperity. There is hope for a brighter future. You are only limited by your productivity and talents. This is a bright colorful world full of diversity. You know the earth is round because you've personally seen it on your last vacation to the moon.
