The interviewer wasn't leading people into stupid comments. The sheer idiocy of their volunteered responses-their picture of reality- was unbelievable. You'd know that if you watched it.

I personally think the American population as a whole is getting more and more complacent and the level of intelligence is declining. Smart people don't have enough kids but the ignorant trailer park trash spawn legions of similarly stupid children. Soon, ignorant is the new normal, like fat is now.

no, thats not what I meant, but I'm not surprised you jumped immediately to that. What I meant is that America is full of dumbass people who have no idea about whats going on in the rest of the world. All they know is what they see on TV and are only comfortable with middle america.

For instance, when I was in the AF and we all got our first assignments. I was amazed at how many kids were trading in their duty stations in places like Italy, Germany or Japan, for people who got Barksdale, LA or somewhere in N. Dakota. Dumbasses too scared to get out of their comfort zone and see the world.

I had a friend as a Load Master in the AF. Great guy. He loved visiting foreign countries. When he got stationed in Germany he made it about 2 months before he requested a transfer to a US base (Seattle/Tacoma region). He just wanted to be closer to home. Not sure why that's a bad thing...

I find it incredibly ignorant of you to equate world travel with level of intelligence. What does hitting tourist traps and sipping mimosas in a resort do for the mind? You think 99% of the people traveling to mind opening countries do anything but what their prepaid itinerary tells them to do?

Oh before you ask, yes I have in fact traveled around this world. My mom lived in France before she met my dad in Scotland and moved back to the states. I was brought up in a family that puts a big emphasis on cultural diversity and there are plenty of tards in my family.

I don't argue that most Americans are stupid, but I take it further and say that most people are stupid not matter which country they call home. But I guess the rest of the world looks fantastic when you don't live there.

Regardless of which side you support you are going to have your fair share of ignorance from both. The moral of the story is "Childern Stay in School" Before you support someone just because your parents do or because that's where the masses are going learn their policies. The thing I hate most is the blind follower. Don't be swayed by propaganda and sounds bites. The best decision you can make is one based on knowledge.

Says the guy from Redding. Well, they story I was telling was about younger kids who were too scared and close minded to go live abroad for a
year or two. I didnt say everyone in the military was like that did I? Where did I say that traveling equated to intelligence? I'm just saying most Americans dont have a clue about the rest of the world and that creates some ignorance. Sorry if your idea of travel is resorts and tourist traps, sounds lame.
