Instead of possibly getting yourself in clusterfuck of trouble, why not call the cops?
Normally they wouldn't give it two seconds thought, as said previously, its just a bike. But if you know who took it, and have the emails to prove it, this could be a one day ordeal.

Hey Tree, good luck getting your bike back. There's nothing wrong with doing whatever it takes to do so, including posting on r3v and getting at. You never know what might help. I'll definitely keep my eye out. now can you hook me up with some tire swapping
