I sold my 650k (with absurd $800/month fee) condo and moved in with my girlfriend. So, zero at the moment.

The real question is whether or not I can find a house that I can afford in an area that I can tolerate. Houses here are really a $900k proposition (minimum).

DC housing market, stupid overpriced, miserable commutes and high taxes. But has tons of other stuff to offer.

1300 rent a sfh, 1300 sqf 3 bd 2 bath and outsized car garage. I have a part time house mate, he stores his 99 M3 with me over the winter and uses one bd as a crash pad. He pays utilities. Amounts to 300 a month average as he's barely here like myself.

Im moving to the DC area in about 2 months and need to find a new place. I just got a job up there and I will be graduating in may. I have been looking at places in alexandria and its looking like $1200ish for a one bedroom. Anyone need a roommate? :)
