I would love to install 2.1 but motorola has their head up their ass and won't write drivers for the p.o.s. Cliq. So I'm stuck back in 1.5, wishing I had tried harder for a nexus one.
My phone got the update on sat, the little womans got it this morning (both moto droids). Yeah the new weather and news widgets are great so I can remove the USA today and Weather channel apps. It seems that VZN is doing about 250k devices at a time.
the live wallpapers are really cool, the grass one that mimics the lighting and weather conditions to where you are at is just plain neat.

Disappointed by the lack of 5 home screens on the Droid, but awesome!

No longer stock ride height, rolling as low as a daily driver in New England should without worrying about breaking an oil pan.
The update was waiting on me when I got up Saturday morning - Moto Droid. The thing I noticed first was an update to the browser so it remembers where on the page you were when you followed a link, rather than reloading/resetting that page from scratch when the back button was used. Previously my workaround was to long press links and open them in a new window so I could go back to the same spot on the page I was linking from, but now it appears that's no longer necessary. Good stuff.
i want the upgrade! just got my droid eris and its still got cupcake.
Its because of HTC sense. I have the Sprint Hero which is the same basica phone and its on 1.6 because HTC has yet to deploy the Sense for 2.1. On the upshot you have HTC Sense, which is the best "skin" by far for any Android/WinMo phone. You already have multi-touch, something people rocking the Android only phones just got upgraded to.
I really only want it for access to a few apps that are 2.0+ only and the supposed performance increases that come along with optimized software.
