Carlisle 2010 in pictures: What you missed...

[Andy took most of these pics, I am sure he has some wonderful color commentary to add to this]

This stop on the way down really set the tone for the trip:

    1) Nothing cleans up a cluttered engine bay, while at the same time making it pop to the eye like a little corrugated wire loom...

    2) What's the shortest distance between two terminals? Right over the engine! Save weight and wire!

    3) What's that you say? You want more accents? No sweat, we sell spraypaint!!! (masking tape/removal tools/ability to aim sold separately)

    4) ET for Breather install: 8 seconds (shaved 3 seconds off last year's ET by not trimming ziptie)

    This driver/car combo makes sense:

    Bugatti Veyron:

    It's simple math really:

    Orange silicone coupler ($35)

Blue silicone coupler ($15) + Bright Orange Spraypaint ($4) = 19 dollars (aka WIN)
There's plenty of paint in the can to retouch these every couple weeks!

Also check out those terminal strips for easy addition of accessories

Well, might not be enough spraypaint left after the interior dress up, but who cares when you have a CONTROL BOX.

And you know that your worries will melt away while you're flippin these custom mounted switches as your ears are soothed by the blazing treble from these custom tweeters.

    3 Words: Rear Mount Turbo

This guy probably used a coil spring for a muffler:

I have no Idea which direction this thing is supposed to drive, but I do know that those doors are secure:

Shaved, leaving no trace of ever having a door handle or lock cylinder...

    Find the mod:

    Found it:

    Medium Blue:

The ninja turtles. Master splinter layin in the grass...

    Best (haircut) in show:

Shirt real big, pants real big, Girlfriend real big, everythang real big! (busted taking the pic):

    Kitted:

Overspray, or eerie smoke...? you decide. It's like a choose your own adventure!

Being a full time ricer is tiring work:

Having well balanced wheels is important:

    AERODYNAMIC AS F*CK

This was a popular color scheme this year:

I see big changes coming in this car's future... (one of my favorite pics)

    Good work:

    Splatter paint: Timeless style

IDK if this was supposed to look like a skull, but skulls are badass!

    Not lowered:

Not sure what this means, but I made sure to watch my 6:

    SHAVED:

    Rally lights:

See what I mean about splatter paint?

    Possible application method:

I was almost sucked into the vortex this car was generating:

I'm REALLY curious as to who commented on this car... Note the commentary on the canards

This guy is obviously a creek fisherman... Got a couplafew largemouths in the trunk:

    Seems OK from afar:

On closer inspection, the budget for carbon fiber looked good this year:

I was shielded from being engulfed in this vortex by the midwing:

The only sense I can make of this is that it won "Best scary skull on black, non functional glassed in hood scoop class"

Ben-Hurr really could have used this wheel on his chariot:

Shooting stars, blasting out of a black hole of suck:

Patterns that work well together: Woodgrain and splatterpaint!

    Tuner Mirrors:

This car is newer than this jacket. I wonder if he puts blue tape on his jacket if he goes on long runs:

    Another aerodynamic wonder:

    Supertrapp:

I can assure you that she was not "da 1" for me:

Awesome 3 axle limo... Only slightly Bowed, needs paint. Has hottub:

    Scrapercart:

Now, I give you the top "worst in show"

    Honorable mention:

I know the cage in my car isn't the best... but what the fucking fuck:

This is what happens when you live in a moist climate and have lots of ICE!!!

        ...

        Third Last Place:

        WIDE:

I know you want to steal this fuelcap, but it's protected behind a sheet of bulletproof lexan:

Gotta love a clean engine bay:

My guess is that every aftermarket accessory is running off the cigarette lighter. Based on the amount of accesories, i'm betting he souped up the lighter supply lines. I see, SAFC, GPS, iPod, PS2, radar detector, DVD headunit, gauges, batman, all wrapped in enough faux CF to make ebay's stock go up:

        "Perfect!":

These are not sleepy eyes... these are depressed eyes... Mister number Johnny 5 is sad...

        Second Last Place:

        Flip flop

Not enough time to shellac the flakeboard this year... Got a nice custom mix varnish coming for 2011, tho...

"Got a screen in the dash, watching saved by the bell got a house by the bayside" Well, the screen in the dash was fake (could see through it in bright light), but u no tha othas is real.

        Nice custom gauge setup:

        A closer look...

What have we here? The most dangerous gauges to look at ever:

Real wood flames... Real wood crossover/speaker mount:

Did you say you did an "All motor conversion"??? No, I said "Small rotor conversion":

"Now that's a motor" or "least functional strut bar in class"

        She bangs:

If someone ever steals this car, it's likely they will run out of gas before figuring out to fill it up:

        Custom:

And the winner of this year's "Worst in show":

        Last Place:

I LIKE MY CARS HOW I LIKE MY WOMEN: SHAVED AND HAGGARD:

Shaved tails, shaved window, frenched plate

        Lol:

        Diamond plate armrest:

If I can unbolt it, it's getting painted green (the starter BOLTS were green) (i think he ran out of paint on the intake):

The reason for the last place finish???

This guy definitely moonlights as a plumber... Look at that sweated copper piping... SERIOUS FLOW TO THE AIRRIDE, YO!

But wait, what's that? We had a late entry? This just in:
        Ultra-last place: The Dewmeister"

It's got it all. Inverted wing ends:

        Sponsors:

        Brush paint:

Multi-color interior... custom door speaker pods... Asian dice... One gauge in 3 gauge holder... :

Secured w/ high performace drywall screws:

        Well mounted aero:

Custom, clean double cup-holder molded into door:

        SLAMMIN SYSTEM (good job, mark):

        Smooth body lines:

Body color wheel lip, painted tire letters:

        Yes:

        Well done, sir. Well done...:

        And in closing:

        More coming from other people...

They are definitely serious, don't get me wrong, there are a lot of cool, clean cars there, but it seems like a lot of that is covered by others... I look for the fun stuff...

Cool cars that were there: a few skylines, a gtr, scirrocco (sic) with a full s4 drivetrain, a million big turbo supras, FDs, a bunch of M3s (no E30 M3 tho), lots of cool stuff...

                      o wow.

well its good that the place wasnt full of this. but it makes me so sad that the pictures you took are of cars that make their owners proud.

i'm no one to talk, im driving an early model untucked, a bit rusty, oxidized paint, couple dents, and on bottle caps. But that's because im 20 years old, unemployed, in college, and putting all of my money into my project vert in 10x better shape.
