I am glad they are ditching the shuttle, its time to move on and get out of Low Earth Orbit. On a related note they just test fired the LAS (launch abort System) the video is on Orbital's website. It goes 0-500mph in 3 seconds and it pulls 15g's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not true we have many large NASA facilities at Huntsville AL, in three locations in VA and two in Texas and one in CA.

I would rather see continued exploration into space than some of the other crap we are funding.

I know NASA has facilities all over, just making the point that when you live near them the public opinnion is a little more favorable than where there is not. There is far more places with out than with.

Yes much rather see them continue with the final frontier than fund all the crap they have been lately

Basically the general public is turning more into mindless, tv glued zombies who follow instead of lead. How many innovative inventions have you heard off in the last 10 years that actually have made the human race greater as a whole? I dont really see the iphone or wii as anything greatly important. We have turned into a race chasing the $ instead of the race chasing to become greater then the last

looks like NASA has already been running missions with the replacement of the shuttle.

So I take it that will take over all the non-human jobs of the Space Shuttle? I thought it was going to be a military spacecraft originally though.

I wouldn't be sending my car to the crusher before I had a replacement.

Also, after Vdubin's link, a conspiracy theorist could postulate that the Deepwater Horizion event could have been used as both a Kansas City Shuffle and a way to push Climate Change agendas.
