The guys in that film are scum. There is a difference between motivating a cow to move by using prods and sticks or wrestling calves to give them meds or tags, which I do. But in most of the instances in the movie the force and brutality used is extremely uncalled for anyone who feels the only way to move a cow is punching it in the skull shouldn't be near any livestock.

Guys, for the record, I didn't watch the video, nor know the contents, I was just speaking about how cows are. I had no idea there were vices, crowbars, pitchforks and the like being used. I don't agree with that stuff.

Maybe I should watch the video then post other comments, but I'm betting you offended folks ain't never dealt with a cow. And, neither had I until about a year ago, now I milk twice a day by hand. Do that for a year, then come back and tell me what you think.

Yeah, watching the video would be a good idea since you are still kind of making yourself look like an ass. At one point the guy kneels on the calf, twists its neck 180 degrees, then starts punching it in the head. At another point, he hooks a cow by the nostrils to a fence with only about 12" of slack then beats it repeatedly over the head with a crowbar. Completely uncalled for.

If a dog bites my hand I whack it on the nose, I don't stomp on its neck. There has to be some correlation between cause and effect. I also, doubt that these cows were doing any biting.

i love meat, LOVE it, i've cooked professionally for over a decade, but there is no justification for blatant aggression towards a docile, albeit stubborn animal. there are ways to manage our food supply that do not include violence & abuse. animals do not feel pain or stress the same way that we do, but that does not mean that they should be subjected to this kind of treatment.

sure, but what do you suggest, that we address the problems with humanity 1 at a time until there are none? yeah, that'd be efficient. it's kinda like if i were to argue that crack is the worst drug out there and we're wasting or time with laws prohibiting other drugs, and we should just focus on crack. the world is so fucked in so many different ways, it's kind of important to take a multi-pronged approach to fixing it. pitchfork reference unintentional, but kind of funny.
