    BMWNA stops selling Euro parts

Wondering how it will affect e30 owners. Is BMWNA opening the doors wide open to grey market importers?

"We’ve heard from several sources that BMW North American has ceased all sales of European parts within the US through dealers. Primarily that means things like euro rotors (for the E46), rear foglight switches and the like. The reason? Our sources are telling us that another automaker had an issue with some European parts failing on cars in the US and that BMW NA’s legal department made the move to quash all sales of non-US parts at US dealers."
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

Well, I'll go ahead and let you know that it only applies to the newest of euro parts.
E46 floating rotors come to mind.

We're safe. Order E28, E30, etc. EURO parts to your heart's delight!

i should have posted my first reply it was worded much better but i didnt want to stir the pot.. anyway let me rehash

about a year ago my parts man said the same thing. I forget the details but it sounded like a 'no more euro parts memo' that came out and he said all the recent orders for (some fab euro part for some new slutty model) would go thru and then come back denied. we tried some e30 parts i needed and sure enough they came through just fine, time after time. we inferred that the older stuff was allowed through and the newer stuff not.

They said this three years ago as well and didn't go through with it. If they do it's a shame.

Ask Blunt. Place an order through Tischer. Pick a source.

                  YOU ARE GTG.

p.s. I keep seeing this same thread on all the forums, and it starting to piss me off. You guys are gonna fuck up and jinx it. STOP IT.

This is old news fellas. BMWNA released an order form to be filled out in case a diplomat or someone with a visa for their euro plated car or an imported car needed parts. This isn't geared towards our shit boxes whatsoever. The only thing I've had denied within the last few months have been rod bearings for a euro e34 m5. Blunt can back me up
on this one. Hell, most of the more common euro parts are facing at US Distribution centers anyways!! Ya think BMW would put a stop to their gravy parts they can bend you over for??? Not a chance.

More importantly they did just release the parts catalogue for all their e36 and newer race car parts. Yeah that's right. Seats, brakes, suspension etc. It's all available now. In PDF format if anyone is interested in some insane stuff.
