No, not a spider bite, I think. It was a work boot I have not worn in a couple months and I think the leather was just stiff or shrank some.
My right foot is still in a cast. Went camping last weekend (hella fun BTW) and I took this boot along so if it rained I didn't trash my sneaker. Well it was raining like a bitch on monday, our last day there so I put the boot on and we got to packin shit up and headed home. Took the boot off and found my sock stuck to my foot, and I'm like WTF??? Pulled all that skin off with it. The next toe in got some too, toenail on that toe came off yesterday. Oh yea, I'm diabetic too. Lots of antibiotic creme and band-aids.
I wear boots every day, I have some that sit for a while then get into the rotation depending on conditions/need/ season. Boots dont just shrink like that (well that much)
Your on the west coast if you wear work boots often I suggest you look into a pair made by White's . They are all I really wear anymore even to town and with shorts. They are like slippers once get them broke in (that takes a while) .
