FLN is now COOKING CHANNEL ???

    Stay Hungry?

At least we will get some fresh faces telling us how to use strange ethnic spices.

    Your opinions?

TV will rot your brain. Except for Mythbusters, that shit is cool.

Don't have cable TV. Decided we spent too much money for an excuse to sit around the house and be lazy.

FLN: too much gay interior designers/Martha-esque crap, so I never tuned in (that, and I never really thought of my living as being that fine)
FoodNetwork: too much Neelys making sexual references about juicy rib meat, celebrity chefs that are prima donnas, and not enough cooking techniques so I've lost interest (GoodEats and Triple D are still faves)
        Cooking Channel: has potential

Its like MTV. Now the food channel is 90% reality shows (how many shows can there be where cooks are competing against eachother to make boiled pigs anus in a rowboat in a short amoutn of time?). So they have to make a new channel dedicated to the stuff the original channel was doing. In two years there will be the eating channel, because then the cooking channel will have also jumped the shark.

Go ahead, make your jokes, Mr. Jokey... Joke-maker. But let me hit you with some knowledge. Quit now. Save yourself the embarrassment of losing with these losers in Las Vegas.

Exactly what I've been saying for the past 3 years. Do we really need "Iron Chef America" when the FujiVision version simply cannot be topped (both cuisine-wise and for comic value)? "Throwdown" was great...for the first 2 seasons. "Chopped" should be. "Paula's Party" wasn't. "Challenge" is. BUT at least we are rid of "Emeril." (though I didn't mind "Essence" because the ham factor was taken out. I respect him as a chef)
