I have a feeling that the gauge is hooked up to the hose showing how much pressure is entering - but who knows. It's only one side of the turbo isn't it?

Yes, it's only one side, and they're treating it like the turbine side. There is no compressor side, therefore it is not acting as a turbo and the "boost gauge" is merely the pressure of the air they're feeding into the turbine.

I was thinkin get two and make one of those 50cc scooters a twin turbo.

A friend of mine bought one and ran it at 60psi off an air compressor, still works but the bearings are much louder now lol.
