I like the keyboard on mine. the speakers get really loud too. Only thing i don't like is sometimes I have issues getting youtube videos to play when I have low bars, it just cuts out or says I have some sort of error, gotta do the search again because it doesn't even try if the video failed already. Oh and the slide mechanism could be better, feels like it should be more precise and smooth.
    Jah bless! :pimp:

Awesome phone, great 3g speeds and great with wifi.
Dunno about the actual Moto phones but the HTC phones have a great soft keyboard on them. Especially on the big ass phones like the HD, Evo and now the Droid X. I much prefer the soft keyboard on the Evo to the real keyboard on my Blackberry.
      Im now E30less.

I realize that, it just personal preference. I am slowly getting used to the soft keyboard but dont know if I could handle a phone that has no physical keyboard.

I have a nokia e71x so goin from a physical keyboard to soft keyboard might need getting use to since i text, email alot.

Also, idk if you guys know but the new droid 2 is coming also with a revised keyboard.

One more thing, does verizon let you use your phones as a wifi hotspot? It would be nice if i can connect my laptop thru my phone. I kno Att doesnt allow this.

Thats awesome. How do you root it? I really want to use the hotspot feature on my evo, but I dont want to pay the $30 a month. Also, Ill be doing lots of traveling this summer, so a wifi hotspot from my phone would be great.

how much better is the new HTC Incredible VS the Moto Droid?
it is only $50 more. i am up for my upgrade in Aug so i am trying to narrow it down between these 2.

i was taking to a friend who had the HTC Hero last night and he is on his 3 in 4 months for different issues, non rooted too. his carrier is Tmobile if that makes a difference.

this is making me shy away from that phone

                        ^^^^^^^^^^

I have 2 Moto droids running (mine and the little womans) Both are still stock and just running on 2.1.1. We love them both and

Not had one single issue (other than GPS is way off when were here in IA at her ma and dads house) But I think thats a service issue not a hardwear issue.

I went from an iphone to the HTC Evo and I much prefer the Evo. Android is far superior to the apple OS. And the hardware on the Evo is worlds ahead of my iphones. I'm sure the 4 will be improved though.

the droid 2 and the droid x are due out in july.

as for rooting the phones, there are tons of forums with help. check out androidforums.com and google up xda-developers. Rooting the phone is the way to go, you can always go back to stock if you want.
