If so, I could use some suggestions as to what to do/what to look out for. I'll be staying at the Atlantis resort for a week but the main island looks like a great place to swing out to, in which case I'd like to know what bars/clubs to hit up (if I even should).

Yeah, let's just put it this way: The economy in the Bahamas is through the floor with something like 30% unemployment. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING THAT YOU DON'T MIND LOSING. Anything shiny has very high odds of disappearing.2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD 4WD LBZ/Allison

ahaha so the best advice is to be the cautious traveler? That was put on the list of things to do, I like keeping my shit to myself and not getting scammed/tricked by locals where ever I go.

Don't leave ANYTHING in your rental car. Its normal in the bahamas/carribean for the rental car guys to have copies made of all their cars, and they themselves or their little cronies frequently open up your car and take your shit out. Even the "name brand" rental agencies.Comment
