^ Not a mistake, it was a MKI. They came with both 2 and 4 headlights. Same with the MKII

Did anyone else notice the mistake they made with the Mk1 gold GTi they had on the show? They said the one they had was a Mk1 but i thought the Mk1's had only 2 headlights, whereas the Mk2 had four headlight like the one they had on the show...sorry if this all sounds confusing :S

But the era is wrong. And if you want to split hairs then he shoulda got an e30 325i. But you are correct the more practical and rule fitting car is the e36.
