Knock off iphones

I actually do have the money to buy a real iphone. I could always take one of my brothers phones too since he gets every new iPhone that comes out and puts the old ones in a drawer. I just think for $25 shipped why not. Their is a whole big discussion about buying knock offs and kopi etc. Someone who sends $20 on a fake LV wallet would probably never spend $300-400 on a real one and are not hurting sales of original stuff. Then you can have the examples of the fakes that cost just as much as the real thing. A BMP kit cost just as much as a Breyton kit. We could argue the semantics of the people who buy imitation products would never buy the real thing for whatever reason. I have a really nice phone and have had quite a few over the last year. Just thought it would be a kinda funny to have a fake iphone. It would go nicely with my NES controller. And yes post# 2 try to make it sound like i can't afford a real phone. Its funny how people who can't afford a tank full of premium automatically assume your poor too cause you drive the same car. I guess that's typical for a forum full of people who aren't even old enough to drink.
And for what its worth if a chinese manufacturer got its hands on some e30 tooling and sold them for $5000 US i'd probably buy one. I really like what they've done with the mk2 VWs.Last edited by einstein57; 07-15-2010, 11:26 PM.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Lucky you... I have to save for two years for one... And before I can afford one it's out of production. Then 2 more years of saving for a newer generation... I'm never getting one... Lucky you...
Ooooh. How cool is that. Didn't I see you on MTV Cribs or something?
LV wallets - fake or no fake - who the fuck would want that??? Let's assume there are ones (you probably have a couple). People who buy fake LV wallet should really vist a shrink. There are tons of brands with decent stuff (nice quality leather, handmade etc.) for much less.I just think for $25 shipped why not. Ok. Here comes my favorite:
It would be even more funny to have fake tits! Think about it!
To wrap this up man - JUST SAY NO (let me spell it for you - N, O - just like NOS without "S") TO KNOCKOFFS!!!
Just imagine you run your own manufacturing business... Would you be all jolly-jumpin' over all the fake shit on ebay??

^^^Dude, the guy was just asking if anybody had experience with the I9 phone, why did you turn this into a "don't buy fake shit" thread (aka: just say NO to knockoffs)? The OP could have a million reasons for not buying an iPhone, the least important reason being the price. Maybe he, like many others, think the iPhone is a complete hunk of shit & doesn't buy into the Apple Marketing Machine like so many other fucking clones?
I regret you have to save for 2 years to buy an iPhone but your comments show a complete lack of respect for the OP & a perfect example of, "...if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it".Comment

The biggest turn off for me is the nany feature on the 3GS and newer phones. Iphones are actually pretty cheap compared to other phones in the U.S. The motorolla droid cost twice as much as a iphone when it came out.
No but perhaps you saw the editorial on better homes and gardens and vanity fair.
Just as an example of one of the most knocked of products in the world. Maybe i should have used rolex as an example.LV wallets - fake or no fake - who the fuck would want that??? Your logic makes no sense. You've never bought a gag item? Goofy teeth, raper bling, jimmy hat? Someone should start making those again. I had a pink blackberry for a while cause i thought it was funny. I even had it loaded with all kinds of gay ringtones. My daughter painted my big toe lime green and i've left it for a month cause its funny to her. Guess i find joy in the little things.
I have my own parts coming out. If you make a quality product at an affordable price you don't need to worry about fake crap. The people who don't care about high quality would never purchase top shelf products. I personally in this particular case do not need a high quality phone with all the bells and whistles to leave in my glove box to occasionally use when my battery is dead. Or if i'm going out and don't want to worry about breaking or loosing a nice phone cause i'm drunk. Done that too many times.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

OP clearly stated he wants it as a backup phone. I wrote earlier there are cheaper legit phones to use for backup. I was not judging whether the product is good or bad. I personally like everything about it... except the phone part.
Yeah, I'm very sorry too. I also had to sell my kidney to get a 12y.o. E30. It's probably stolen from Germany too, and was welded from 3 different cars... Life here is just that miserable...
You really don't see the irony, don't you?
Back to the topic:
Fair enough. As long as it's true. Motorola, Nokia, SE and 10 other mobile phones manufacturers have around 3-5 models present on the market at the same time.
Here, a new iPhone costs around 500USD. Pretty cheap compared to HTC or some high-range Samsung or SE i.e. BUT - a NEW low-range legit phone (be it Motorola or Nokia) costs around 40USD. I assumed your mobile market is pretty similar as euro market... My bad if you're challenged.
A gag item - sure. But that's not the case. You stated "backup phone". When tackled later you started mentioning something about it being funny. Don't turn things around. And especially don't deny other peoples logic when doing so.
You are dreaming man. Just because this is your approach (which is most fine) it doesn't mean others think so too. Especially with dirt cheap electronic these days. When I was in my highschool years, I remember that a lot of things when broke, were being repaired. Now they just get thrown away and replaced. Kids buy knockoffs all the time. And if it breaks after 2 months? Who cares! They are cheap, so they get a new one. This goes on and on.
Sure. But this does not mean you should go and stuff fake-makers pockets! Because among all those people who would actually want to buy a genuine thing, there will always be a significant percentage of those who will get a fake for saving reasons.
This discussion can go on and on. Some people even consider knockoff market as an additional advertisement of the official products. It all depends how you look at it.
I'll stick with my POV - either genuine or none.

Initially i thought it would be a funny gag phone to have. I have another phone made out of an old NES controller too but i have to take it apart everytime i need to charge it. So i'm trying to justify in my mind throwing away $50 if it actually works well. Some of the older models can be had for $24 shipped. Those disposable motorola and nokia phones have dinky little screens and usually don't have a keyboard in the $40-50 range. I would just use my pink blackberry but my carrier requires i call up and change over to a blackberry plan everytime i use it. To big of a hassle if you ask me.
On a side note i went out drinking this weekend and was talking to this chick who had the smallest phone i'd ever seen. It looked like the zoolander phone. She said she got it for $25 shipped on ebay.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.
