Shipping A Bumper... Can't Find A Big Enough Box!

Anybody know where they sell boxes big enough/ long enough to fit a bumper in!?

Just make one, I used a few that I broke down and laid flat. Tape them together when its the correct length and then bend the ends up.

For a bumper just wrap the damn thing in foam wrap and butcher paper.

Go to a local bicycle shop and ask the boss if you can have a few boxes. They're usually reinforced cardboard and you should be able to build a suitable bumper box from 1 or 2 bicycle boxes.

Agreed. This would be the easiest way and your best bet for it not being damaged during shipping.

Or go to walmart late at night when they're restocking stuff. I got all the boxes to ship my body parts for my previous car that way.

Don't forget to insure it. I shipped a bumper and it got damaged but luckily for me I insured it.

I use sears. At night they throw out the boxes for the refrigerators.

this, or use boxes from washers/dryers they have really thick cardboard.

Yep, all my big/oddly shaped things I have shipped (that are relatively light that is) I wrap in 3-4 layers of bubble wrap and call it good.

                      Haven't had a problem.

I've had the local mom-and-pop shipping places want to charge more if something isn't wrapped in brown cardboard/paper.

The only problem I've ran into is when something is wrapped in that shipping-type saran wrap stuff, that FedEx wants it covered in tape so it doesn't get caught in their sorting machines.

Apparently it's in both fedex and ups terms of service. They showed me the rules.

Go to a body shop, and ask them if you can have the box that a replacement bumper or valance came in. The shops around here have them ALL the time. Any time I've ever need to ship a body panel or part, I've just gone and gotten the box for that part, and they almost always have it.
