                                I'm pretty sure her life went downhill from that point on. Heroin is incredibly addictive and its probably has the worst withdrawal symptoms.

                                        He never pulled the trigger, so technically that part is wrong. The part that some people don't see beyond him dealing heroin is that he probably did more good than harm in the end. Ferdinand was the big guy during the operation and the author was right in his figuring that a pusher will take another pusher's place overnight, if it wasn't him it would have been someone else. Another "Ferdinand" would be harder to get quickly. Not that any of it matters in the grand scheme of things.
