Nothing but Boxers all my life. I currently only have one though and she's a handful. They're incredible pets but they can suffer from lots of health issues. The females tend to be very alpha which can be difficult with other dogs. Overall though, there is no dog like a Boxer on this planet.

Yeah, I've read about these before. They would definitely be on the list as well.
Any other suggestions?
sleeve, the wife's mother has a husky, great dog, but no way could I deal with the hair. And I'd feel terrible about having one in the summer heat we have here in OK.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

Best dog I ever owned? The Catahoula Leopard Dog. They have their own registry. Beautiful, intelligent, active, gorgeous dogs. The only breed I know of that a well trained adult male can be worth more than a pup.
And yes, they often have white eyes, or green or blue, or "cracked" with white streaks.
Worst: The Komondor. Fuck those hungarian shit pumps, hairy mean ass sonsabitches!
Most surprising: Afghan. Flying carpet! Sweet, gentle, loyal...but shitty watchdog.

I'll throw in my two cents. Labrador Retriever. There is a reason they are the most popular dogs in the World. Amazing attitude, unmatched loyalty, manageable size.
If you want to go a size or two bigger, I suggest the Great Pyrenees. My two are so smart I can't even explain it. My older male is 7 months old, and can babysit a 5 year old. I'm not saying I do that. I'm saying they are some of the most understanding, and self sufficient dogs I've ever seen.
Will protect their home with a ferocious bark, protect any and all animals you have. I guess they might be a bit too rural for you, but I'd really say the lab is a great choice.
Labrador is 9m/o, Large Pyrenees is 7m/o, and Pyrenees pup is 6w/o.

This girl I was seeing before she bitched out on me had 4 boxer puppies born the other week. I'm thinking of seeing her just to play with the puppies and get pics for this thread.

I love boxers, but living in a 1 bedroom with my gf soon we are looking at getting a Boston Terrier. Somewhat boxer alike and a manageable size.-Erik
