Burglarized in San Diego last night.

My car got broken into last night at Scripps Ranch in San Diego. They took my jacket that, and this never happens, had my wallet inside. So I filed a report and I just came back from talking to the officer. He told me that just in this area there were at least 70 reports of the same incident all in the same night. Make sure you guys leave you're cars empty!

A couple of other things to add to this though. This happened to be at around 2:30ish and I so happened to be taking a shit in the bathroom that has a view of where my car was parked. After a quick wipe I could just barely see them driving off in a 7-10 year old white ford taurus.

With my I.D. being gone now and in the hands of some punk ass fuckers, what should I do not to ensure no further identity theft?

edit: I did manage to give the cop the exact times that night these guys tried to use my debit card at Vons, Mobile, Chevron and Jacko Box.

Sucks man. My wifes' E46 got broken into a few months back. Broke the passenger side window, scratched the fuck out of her door, stole 2 Ipods, and fucked up the dash trying to steal her Ice-link that I had just put in the weekend prior.
Pissed me right the fuck off...now I'm buying guns.

Scripps Ranch is "supposed" to be a nicer area..but then again its right across the freeway from Mira Mesa...Hopefully they got them on camera at the locations they tried to use your card.

Damn, that is really close to me.

I have never had a problem like that though. And I hope its cause my car looks like a pile of shit from the outside to a theif.

Sucks, I guess you already called your bank and credit card companies. You probably want to put a fraud alert with Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.

You have to be kidding me, even if they had them in hi-def holding up their IDs the cops won't do shit. You know it, I know it, everybody knows it.

You could hand deliver video footage of the crooks to the cop in charge of your case and they would find a reason to treat you like shit and file that video in the trash.

actually I've been in contact with an officer all day today. Since this thing has been happening for a bit now and since last night there might of been a 100 break in's this becoming somewhat of a priority around here.

but yeah my car also looks like a steamy pile of shit and yet all it took was me being to lazy and leaving my jacket in the passenger seat.

would anyone in the san diego area btw, happen to have a new passenger side front window?
