I feel for Toney if Couture chooses to pull out all the stops. I have to say though, this is a shitty way for MMA to finally meet boxing (finally meaning in the era of MMA being at the level of exposure it is now). Furthermore, UFC billing it as "Boxing vs UFC" makes me sick! Fuck this fight.

In the big picture your right on the money with MMA vs boxing. Right this second though, I really want Couture to dominate Toney. If for no other reason, he is dumber than a sack of hammers and has no problem showing it. Kind of makes me sick to think of him representing any sport, especially boxing. To me this is not a "boxing vs MMA" fight as much as a "Toney vs MMA" fight.

Couture in the second round. Not sure how, but I'll stick with a second round win. If I'm wrong and it turns into a ground game, Couture by decision. If Couture feels like he has something to prove and tries to stand up with Toney... well, Couture has pulled out some pretty mean knock outs in the past. I'll keep hoping and rooting for my man but, there's not gauruntee at his age.

I predict this will be one of the lamest fights of the year.

My prediction: Dirty boxing with no real damage for at least 13 of the 15 minutes, the natural will win by decision.

They'll dance a bit in the beginning, Toney will be swinging for the fences. Couture will engage a tight clinch, and shove Toney against the fence. A single-leg takedown will occur almost immediately and Couture will beat his face in with elbow against the cage on the ground. 2:30 first round TKO

Of course there is always the possibility of Toney catching him in the first minute. If it goes beyond that, I don't think he has much of a chance.

Niether has great KO power anymore, so unless Toney curls up in the fetal position up against the fence I don't see the fight getting finished quickly.

Any proffesional fighter is dangerous, but at that level I don't think Randy has the skills to KO a defensive boxer such as Toney. Toney isn't going to get a chance to stand around and box Randy, so its gonna be boring as fuck to watch. It'll be 2 big guys pushed up against a fence doing not a whole lot of anything.
