Here is my thought. 380SL when they are not having weird expensive fuel injection problems. Sagging spring issues. Not to mention subframe bushings issues. They still are not fun to drive. The parts are crazy expensive, and it cannot move out of it's own way. If I wanted to spend that kind of money, I would at least buy something that is cool and fun to drive when it is all sorted. Like a 2002, 911, E21, E12, etc.Leave a comment:

Dude, I think the M42 is actually fast compared to the 380. I'm suspect that my kick-down isn't working properly, but it's REALLY slow.
The slow thing doesn't bother me ( insert 318i joke here ). It would just be something to wrench on and restore. I always loved restoring cars with my pops when I was younger. Their is a bmw 2002 for sale nearby and I am going to check it out tomorrow. I have my heart dead set on that thing.
If you love restoring cars, go for the 2002. It'll be a lot more fun in the end.Leave a comment:

for now it's done, I have the springs I wanted, everything else will come with a little more cash.

It's a big, slow cruiser. I've been trying to sell it for 3K and I've gotten no luck -- and the engine is REALLY strong. It just won't pass smog in Cali because of an exhaust leak that I'm too lazy to fix. Mine has the hardtop, and a new-ish vert top.Leave a comment:
