Many of my best memories are from my time in scouts. I really don't like how the LDS has taken over the organization, but....can't do anything about that.
Must be something in your area, no LDS affiliation here in MN.

There isn't much of a presence here either-- I meant that on the national administration scale the LDS is extremely involved in how Scouts is run, and it's the worse because of it.

Still proud of being a scout. Not thrilled at all with the organization.

Personally I'd rather hire the guy with the 3.9 gpa. It's not like tying knots and ironing patches on a cute vest is going to help much in the real world.

Wow s0urce, you have no idea.

So went out selling today. Richest neighborhood in Bremerton, or atleast top 3, and only three people bought. I went out at 2:00 on a saturday though, maybe thats my problem?

the few who get it here, understand how much work it took us to get here...

the required merit badges are not a cake walk either...

shows you don't know anything about the effort it takes to be an eagle
it still means a lot to many, including prospective employers

one of the things that is screwing up america is too many 3.9 GPA's that don't know fuckall about the real world

well. with lds on board, ive been seing 13-14 yr old eagles. dont know how.

Im not an eagle, nor was i ever a scout (although i always wanted to be one).. But I have spent the last 3 years working for a great scout camp, and now im running the best scouting rock climbing high adventure program on the east coast. (quite possibly anywhere)
i do support the ideals in scouting and i love taking the scouts out climbing some of the best they can have.

Yeah my friend's Dad said when he moved from his hometown to another place the only troop in his new town was a LDS one. He sais it was like... you made a PB&J? Oh then heres the cooking merit badge...

LDS troops have like eigth grade life? WTF my scoutmaster is ex military and crazy about uniform, and everything. He is a greatguy and commits everyday to scouts.

Seriously our troop website is a great resource.
