Friends bike locked to rail, lost key

My roomate rides his bike too and from class (ncsu is a big place) and lost his keys partying over the weekend. well

its one of those horseshoe locks that has the circular key things, and we cant figure out how to get it off.

we thought about hacksawing or maybe bolt cutters, is there another way?

a hack saw would do just fine, but dont try to cut the U part of the lock cause it's cadium coated so you wont even scratch it. But cute the cylinder part wthere the actual lock is, dont ask me how I know :twisted:

BFH...big fuckin hammer... hack saw or pipe cutter will take forever. the way the thieves do it is with liquid nitrogen in a lil aresol bottle, but that is kinda difficult to get, soo, hit the lock part with a big ass hammer...it works, trust me.

I've heard rumors that the lock cylinders are really easy to drill in old locks like that... maybe drill it out?
