I'm taking my girlfriend to Vegas during fall break in October for her 21st bday. We're about to start planning out our 4 day adventure... anyone have any suggestions? I've never been, anyone know of any nice places to stay, shows to see, where to eat, what to do, what to avoid? Thanks for suggestions in advance.

Ive been lookling on lasvegas.com, and following up hotels reviews on yahoo/google travel reviews.
This will help you decide your budget.
It's fine to stay off strip and take taxi's or inmost cases there is a free shuttle to the strip.
Gamble if you gamble (i don't)
I usually have drinks in the hotel, walk around, play slots, and have free drinks while playing them.
Be weary of taxi drivers and their "deals" i.e. take you to a strip club for half price yada yada, it's usually a scam, just have them take you wherever you're going.
On strip the excalibur, bill's gamblin saloon, and monte carlo are all pretty cheap and nice, and on the strip. Bill's gamblin saloon being the best as in action and cheap fun (karaoke, .99 maragaritas.
Save some dough if your gf likes shows like cirque de soleil as they are expensive as fuck! $150 a person, but girls love this stuff.
Off strip I'm looking at the Orleans this time, about $40 a night and a free shuttle to the strip. 3star hotel. In the hotel there is a gambling floor, bowling alley, movie theater, and clubs. Oh yeah, most clubs you can get in before like 9 or 10 and theyre free. After that they are $20-$30 a head.
Been a couple times already. With your boys its a whole nother beast, with your girlfriend it is what it is.
Cheers :)
oh yeah the Bellagio is the best show on the strip ;)

stay at the Mirage, They have the sickest pool IMO. As far as shows go, Cirque De Solie is always a winnar with the ladies. Be sure to check out the zoo inside aswell, many exotic animals.
I made the mistake of eating steak @ kokomos in the mirage though, the bill was 750 dollars, burn.harry/harout

I think collectively we'll have around $1500 to play with. I'm setting myself a $150/day gambling budget... not too much of a gambler, but when in in vegas... Thanks for the Mirage tip, I'll check it out. Def. hitting up cirque and the zoo. However, I will stay away from that $750 peice of cow.

Harrah's properties, i.e. Planet Hollywood, Ballys and Paris are nice and reasonable, esp if you already are a member with them. Bring comfy shoes as you will walk alot. Don't bother with going downtown - waste of money. Be sure to hit up Mandalay Bay as they have an awesome aquarium. Save back a couple hundred and book an evening meal at the Eifel Tower - worth every penny during and . . . after!

A Vegas trip with the girlfriend will be boring, thats not what Vegas is for, but since you never been you should see a lot of cool stuff. All the big hotels will offer something that the others might not have, just look around online too see what you are into or want to visit. But come up with a plan and try to stick with it otherwise you will get drawn in by the next billboard and then miss out on something you had scheduled. Try to get in a nice dinner or two, then the rest of the time eat at buffets or many of the specials the casinos have. Take her to a nice show and then watch all the free ones that they have outside the casinos. City Center is new and a lot of people enjoy that place.
I always go to the Buffet at the M resort. Its not right on the strip, but it has really good food and all you can drink alcohol. I'm not even a buffet guy either. Robuchon if you can afford it, that guy has a lot of Michelin Stars. And eat at one of the brazilian steakhouses. Theres a few good dessert places if shes into that, and most girls are.
Need more info to suggest more specific places, What is she into? Shopping, what kind of foods, clubs?
I sometimes stay off the strip and do other things Theres Red Rock Canyon, which is a cool nature preserve, hiking and mountain biking, etc. Ive never been here, Boulder Canyon Flightlines, it's a half mile zipline through the canyons. Its about half an hour away but I think theres a free shuttle. http://www.bcflightlines.com/sigpic

Wow, a vegas virgin... You and your lady will have a good time. 4 days is too much for me in vegas personally. I'm usually happy with 3 days 2 nights. If you do it right, you should be over it by day 3.
Where you stay really depends upon your budget. The Palazzo is pretty nice. http://www.palazzolasvegas.com/index.aspx A good place to shack up with your lady for a reasonable price. It's connected to the venetian, and if you plan on seeing blue man group, or want to play some poker you'll want to be there.
If poker is your thing, the poker room in the Venetian is good times. If not, the Wheel of Fortune slot is always my pick. Play it right, put in 100$ hope for a "Spin the wheel" and win your money back + some.
For shows, cirque du solelil is pretty cool. Mystere is at Treasure Island, O is at the Bellagio, KA is at MGM Grand. Or you can see Blue Man Group at the Venetian.
Make it a mission, get drunk, walk to all the different hotels on the strip and gamble on the go. For a first timer, I'd tackle the strip from north to south: Palazzo/Venetian, Caesars, bellagio, paris, NY, MGM, treasure island etc.
If you guys are into the club thing or you just want to see a shit show of a crowd. You can always get wasted at XS which is at the Wynn/Encore hotel. ...best people watching ever.
Save your money and fly back late day 3. Put that money towards the entertainment/food budget. All the nice hotels will offer good food. You have plenty to choose from.tasty

Well i am from vegas. Have seen most of the shows and stayed in most of the hotels. Paris was probably the hotel i liked the most. The rooms weren't the biggest but they were the most nice/comfortable for the price in my mind. The most entertaining show to me was the Blue Man Group. Definitely go in the Bellagio and see the atrium, its pretty cool. I agree with eating at the eiffel tower, its worth it ;) . I have always thought the downtown stuff was overrated. Its far away from all he exciting and there is anything worthwhile down there.
If you want to see a show but don't wanna spend a ton of money you could go to tournament of kings, its probably the cheapest quality show and it comes with dinner.
My personal favorite place to eat is maggianos. Its in the fashion show mall. Its not expensive but i enjoy the food. Hit me up if you have any specific questions.

I have been there about 5 or 6 times. My favorite place is Mandalay Bay and I love the rooms at Mandalay Bay the hotel. A lot of young people stay there and the pool is beyond amazing. Clubs I liked were Rain, Studio 54, Pure and Tryst.. have fun with GF but not a place to take ur gf.. You will know why I said this.. Everyone goes there to party, gamble and get laid.

I've been there about 6 times in the past year. If you have cash to spend on a room, definitely check out the Bellagio or the Wynn. If not Palazzo and Planet Hollywood are the best bang for your buck as far as placement on the strip and quality. Paris has a fantastic breakfast buffet for a great price.
Planet Hollywood and the Bellagio are the best places to gamble, I keep to about $100-200 a day and I always win money at those two.
Blue man group was AWESOME! The Beatles LOVE show by Cirque is really cool. Garth Brooks at the Wynn is a great concert.
My favorite Clubs are The Bank in the Bellagio, XS in the Wynn, and Ghostbar at the Palms.
The Sportsbook at the Bellagio is the best place to do some sports gambling.
I would stay away from older casinos such as the Flamingo, they will take you for everything, I lost $300 in about 45mins there playing $25 blackjack, went back over to Planet Hollywood and made that back in a couple hours on the $10 tables (lots of drinking was involved of course)
City Center has some pretty cool sections to check out. I don't think Aria is that great of a hotel, I stayed in the Corner Suite there and it was nice, but I much prefer the Wynn for the price.
Always drink in the casino, beer at the liquor stores is ridiculously expensive!!

I'm pretty sure the Wynn has the topless pool. If I were to go back to Vegas I'd stay at the Wynn so I could have access. But being with your girl she's probably not cool with it.
Do you like burgers? Go to the Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay, THEE best burgers ever. I can go into great detail but trust me on that one.
Hotels don't really matter, I stayed at the Excalibur, probably the lamest one on the strip but it has a great casino. If you're spending time in your room besides sleeping then there is something wrong with you.
I didn't see any shows so I cant speak about that.
Definitely bring booze with you, I brought 2 24 packs of beer and didn't spend a dime on booze. Then again, if you're gambling waitresses will give you complimentary drinks but you need to tip them. I didn't tip once because I didn't realize I was supposed to until I was on my way back home lol.
2 nights 3 days is all you need. You get over it pretty quickly but it's a lot of fun.
Do you like guns? There's somewhere where you can go to a shooting range and you can shoot a whole bunch of different guns, fully automatic too. Don't know what it's called but I'm sure 20 seconds of Google searching will lead you to it.
Have fun dude!
