Cool, I really like those slip on ones.

I wear these (womens). And because I love them so much, I bought two pairs.

I have two pair as of now:

First pair are Puma Liga, they have a wide front so they fit very well. They also are VERY light and have AWESOME pedal feel for SCCA events. I cannot wear racing shoes because most people have small feet. I am 6'6'' and 14" shoes look normal on me!

Second pair are kinda funny! Puma Bode(top left gray ones) I wanted black but they were all out =(

These are my next pair(I want some slip-ons):

I'm so upset I can't wear chuck's anymore. I have bad knees and these have terrible arch support which make them worse.

You should try Puma. They are extremely lightweight and comfortable and look very similar to those old Vans you have. I love this brand because of how lightweight their shoes are.
    $50 - $60 bucks.

those and the afforemetioned PF Flyers are crap. Good luck bro. I used to have a grey pair of vans EXACTLY like those,

Your not going to find anything with a similar feeling gel sole.

I've since migrated to DC/Vans, but not much compares

airwalk used to be ontop of their shit too, but I'd put my money on *DVS maybe. It seems that it's really hit and miss with alot of "skate" shoe type makers nowadays. best bet is just going to a couple random skate shops and just trying on anything that remotely looks to fit the same bill for comfort. - I'm always fucked cause i wear a 13, the top size of most standard available skate shoes, so if you wear a smaller size you may find a better selection

Osiris shoes tend to lean more toward similar "flat-foot" soles just like old-school "popular" (why, i don't know.) converse.

Hmm...maybe slip ons or boat shoes are the way to go haha. I'll admit that I have no sense of style.

People always chuckle when I get out of my M3 because they don't expect the driver to look homeless.

Go to somewhere like journeys or a skate shop or somewhere in the mall and try on stuff. You really cant judge what you want over the internet.
