Pouch with a zipper to keep objects that you collect or need. Clips to your belt.

Lol, I have had my ipod for 4 years with no problems, and my brother got the same ipod that barley made it past a year, but I have had my acer pc for 5 years with no problems. It all depends on what you get. With exeption to dell, fuck dell.

    THAT is F'ed!

i went into an APPLE store when i was having problems with my iPod, i was pounced upon by a sales person wanting to sell me CRAPPLE stuff. when i told them i was there because i was having problems with my iPod, they responed with "do you have an appointment?"
i told them "No......." (this is the first i had heard of this apptment BS) "i'm sorry, you will need to call the 1800 number and make an appointment first." then walked away.
it was all i could do not to run him down and smash his face in.

with customer service like that, why the hell should i buy another APPLE product?

I dunno I have had the exact opposite experience with apple here. I went in a few weeks ago without an appointment with 3 ipod touches that had issues. The guy looked at me kinda strange because I had 3 ipods with me, but he quickly exchanged them all out for me. 2 of the 3 had stone dead batteries so he couldn't even verify the issues I had, he just took my word for it.

I just went up yesterday too with a 3GS phone with a broken home button. The guy took it in the back to take a look at it, and he said that he would put a new screen assembly on it which will replace the home button. He came back with a new phone and showed me 1 teeny tiny crack near my data port on my old phone. He said that was covered under the warranty so he will just give me a whole new phone.

I made an appointment the 2nd time, but the first time I just showed up. Granted I had to wait about an hour before they could get to me, but they told me that when I showed up so I was able to leave and shop around the mall for a while.

I still use my Zune 30 every once in awhile even though I have an iPhone. I absolutely love the interface. I bought it for like $70 3 or 4 years ago, and it's great to plug into the 360.

It's your battery or possibly your system board. What model/ generation do you have?

Check out iFixit for parts and repair manual's..

Meh, I guess everyone has their experiences. I've been rocking my Zune for two years now trouble free. My stupid soundgate car adapter dealio destroyed my battery so after I replaced that its been better than the first day I got it.

My previous experience with an iPod wasn't as smooth...granted I had that thing for like 4yrs (died in 2008). The god damn thing would crash and reformat itself like every 2 months, in the end I threw the fucking thing against the floor and ordered myself a Zune. iTunes is a pain in the ass well.

O/P sorry for the rant but it does sound like a battery issue and shouldn't be that difficult to DIY.

It's a bad battery, it will cause it to shut off at random. What kind of ipod is it? The classic ones are pretty simple to take apart, touches can be done but they are a lot harder than they look. I busted the shit out of the first few touches I ever took apart.
