my 120gig does that crap every time it starts getting hot out.
i have talked to apple support (after a 35 MIN wait on hold) and the guy told me mine was better than the newer classics because it had an actual hard drive where as the new ones don't and not to get rid of it.
if someone else made a 120/160gig device, i would buy it.

BTW if you have a wire cup holder in your console, it makes a better iPod classic holder than a drink holder (more like coffee launcher)seien Sie größer, als Sie erscheinen

mine gets carried around the world in a swimmers pouch, means it doesn't get all that hot. It needs a new battery and since it's a limited edition model and my kids gave it to me I would prefer they fix it.Comment

It's a bad battery, it will cause it to shut off at random. What kind of ipod is it? The classic ones are pretty simple to take apart, touches can be done but they are a lot harder than they look. I busted the shit out of the first few touches I ever took apart.Rollin' with a GeistkuchenComment

What's a swimmers pouch? I'm a swimmer and never wore more than a speedo... Greg, do you fly in a speedo under your flight suit?Comment

My previous experience with an iPod wasn't as smooth...granted I had that thing for like 4yrs (died in 2008). The god damn thing would crash and reformat itself like every 2 months, in the end I threw the fucking thing against the floor and ordered myself a Zune. iTunes is a pain in the ass well.
O/P sorry for the rant but it does sound like a battery issue and shouldn't be that difficult to DIY.IG: deniso_nsi Leave me feedback here

Zune FTW. i have had my Zune since it came out, once in a while it will lagg and freeze but that's only when i leave it in my car in the heat.
