    Reporting from jury duty

32.5 miles each way, followed by a morning filled with sitting on my ass waiting. On the plus side, I get a check for 10 whole dollars sometime in the next 3-6 weeks just for reporting today. This could have very well have turned into an interesting experience, but the fucking waiting has turned me off to it. This being government work means that while i sit here and wait, there are 3 assholes upstairs standing there sniffing their shit-scented thumbs while watching one person actually work. I'm never voting again.

I'll update this should I get selected for an interesting trial, until then fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu uuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Anything government related around here just brings out the bad part of society. Ugly, stinky, or just plain stupid.

I did more or less the same thing on my jury duty. Sat for 5 or so hours and then got sent home. I had an ipod and peggle though.

^ same thing, but mine was only about 5 minutes away, and we only had to stay a few hrs/day for about a week and a half.

We should probably just let judges and people in authority be the jury instead of our stupid peers.

Never Voting again? Then you might as well move to a country that doesn't have the freedom of choice.

While Jury duty is the disdain of most people, could you imagine if there were trials without peers?

And around here they don't go off the voting rolls or being registered, it's off the Driver's License database.

Jesus christ shut the fuck up, I'm being melodramatic. Even if i didn't want to vote ever again, I would have that choice since i live in a country that grants me that freedom :jerkoffsmiley: The waiting was the bullshit part of it all. Hopefully now it becomes more interesting.

Apparently they use voter registration as well as dmv databases here. The reason I speculate (more of a joke) that I was summoned is because this is the first presidential election I opted to vote in. I'm sure its just a coincidence though.
