Possibly dic*ed out of new job...

Well, when my unscrupulous previous employer/company didn't extend my contract, I started looking for work. This was nearly 3 months ago.
This past Thursday, I checked out through a leasing firm an open position at a Landbaumaschine(Tractors mostly) service Werkstatt. The owner and I talked and discussed the job, as well as I can with my German. I was led to believe I had the job and him and the Leasiing firm had to write up the contract.
Fast forward to Monday, hadn't heard anything from the Firm. Called them and (we'll call him Herr Boss)Herr Boss said that he had heard nothing from the Werkstatt. So right off the bat, I know I won't be having a pleasant meeting with one of them in the near future.
Now it's Tuesday afternoon, Herr Boss calls and tells me that the Werkstatt owner took a f^&*in' walk-in applicant and is giving him a shot for a week. Because he lives in that town, and I am 25 km away.
This is very disappointing on many levels, one b/c I hate searching fro work and two, because though be it by word of mouth, I was givien the job.

And to top it all off, I went to check out another company/job this morning where they do LKW(semi, yard equipment) maintenance, service and upgrades for their shipping operations and was not at all impressed. I have a tentative appt with them Thursday morning.

Thanks...due to the Arbeitslos/Arbeitsamt(unemployment/welfare) Agency out here is the good ol' US of G, I may have take a job against my will or else they will cut me off. ATU, or the 'Pep Boys of Germany' as I like ot call them, is the only one that keeps calling, ugh. I may have to take that then keep looking.

Hey hey...i'm not some lazy mofo that would rather sit home. Do you know how it works in Germany?? Every job is done on a contract. Alot of stuff has to happen to begin a new job. It is a waste of time to do it for a shitty one. Don't mistake my reluctance to taking a job as laziness.

did you actually go to school over here and get an "ausbuildung"? without that I would be surprised if any german garage doing anything would take you. (around here you would be SOL.) It suked pretty bad, but a few years ago when I was 31 or so, I started the whole school thing 3.5yrs. -through the local dealership here.
I got really tired of the contract maint. crap for the military and just dealt with the paycut for a few years.

That's what they all ask me, 'did you do your Ausbildung here or in the US?'. Well the answer is US. Unfortunately my German isn't good enough yet for me to get too much out of going to school. And yes, I am pretty goddamn tired of the contracting BS. Though I just contacted a company looking for peeps in K-Town/Schweinfurt/Graf. We'll see what happens.

Thanks for the offer Mike, I may just be doing that if things don't pan out.
