Outside of a gunshow, one is legally supposed to go to go through an individual who can do an FFL transfer for private party transaction or sell/buy to/from a dealer.

And that's why they call it a "loop hole" is because in gunshows (at least in Texas) anyone can do a person to person handgun transaction without background checks, etc.

Long guns can be bought and sold privately to anyone, anywhere. It's up to you do ensure you're not selling to a felon, minor, or those with unlawful intentions.
This is also the case in MI, correct?

1: didnt look at his location I for some reason thought he was from CA.

2: You dont have gun Registration in TX so why dose he have a gun REGISTERED in his name if it was not done so in a state that requires this????? Also lead to my CA assumption.

3: MANY MANY States still require you get a Permit to Purchase and go through a FFL to process a Private party exchange. Like in MI you have to get a Permission slip from the local Constabulary before you can buy a hand gun at all no matter the who the seller is.

4: The Loop Hole you keep talking about is non existant and just propganda words used by the anti's and the Brady bunch. What you keep describing only apply to Private Party Transactions, that are not endorsed by the gun show or the dealers in attendance there. There is no loop hole, its a privet party transfer that is allowed by TX state law, that is not done by one of the sellers or dealers in attendance, as they would have vetted the person Via the NIBC by law all retail gun purchases long or pistol must abide by this. Since these are dealers and selling for profit, and are a retail business, Anyone buying from a dealer at a gun show still has to go though the back ground check. You are confusing 2 separate types of transactions both happen to be legal in TX , there for.............................. there is no fucking LOOP HOLE.

I live in MT which has better gun laws than TX, and at our local gun shows Private to Private pistol transactions are highly frowned upon and not allowed while the show is going on. if you want to sell/trade one to a FFL there you can bring it in, but you cant sell it to another person while the show is going on.

4a: Federal law says I can buy a Pistol anywhere in the country I wish, but must have it shipped to a FFL of my choice at home to do the transfer in my home state.

5: Yes long guns in most states are not regulated in this manner, and can be transferred privately with out too much paper work in most states.

This kinda thing is something I know just a little bit about, as I carry a pistol every where I go,(where my permits are accepted) and work all over the country. I have to know every in and out of all the carry and pistol laws in many many places, to remain in compliance with the widely varying laws across the country. Even though the cops that enforce them dont have to know them, and often make mistakes regarding such things

It's illegal to attempt to buy a firearm if you're a felon, including misleading someone by not telling them you are a felon. That's on them, not on you. If you're suspicious, don't sell it to them. I see no loophole there.

Wisconsin allows private transfers, and I see nothing wrong with that.

This is why I love AZ, registration is not necessary in a private transaction.
